Strolling and Snapping

For those of you who have followed my blogs for a time or who know me…know that I love taking photos and sharing them. I recently lost a whole lot of photos when my computer crashed and was not fixable.

I decided to take my camera and walk around the yard snapping here and there to begin building up a stash of photos. I spotted this grasshopper atop the fence enjoying some sun. It is a good thing it was there that day because it has been cold and little to no sun since.

The green leaves on the hydrangea that will no longer look like this after the temps dip into the 20’s this weekend.

I love trees and when I came across these leaves they reminded me of all the different trees and leaves we searched for when my children did the leaf project in school. It was fun and interesting finding the leaves and identifying the kind of tree they came from.

I spotted this mushroom among the grass and leaves. We have had a lot of rain lately and mushrooms are growing in abundance.

These are the only blooms I found and the butterflies were still here enjoying them until the colder weather came. I enjoyed my stroll around the yard searching out beauty that will not be seen now for a few months. But there will be lots more beauty to capture with a camera in the seasons ahead.

  3. Charlee: “We really like these pictures. Our favorite is the grasshopper.”
Chaplin: “We like to sit and watch grasshoppers through the window. They are almost as much fun to stare at as butterflies.”
Charlee: “Thank you for stopping by Dennis’s memorial service. It has meant a lot to us to have all his friends visit and leave notes about him.”
Chaplin: “In honor of Dennis we would just like to say: Ok bye.”

    1. We are glad you like the pictures…we thought that grasshopper was kinda cool enjoying the sun atop the fence. Pooh likes to watch grasshoppers too.

    1. Yes, there were some that I really do hate losing. Since I had not used them or had saved them anywhere there is no way to recover them. I will be saving things from now on.

  4. I am so sorry you lost so many photos. For me it would be no big deal but you capture so many lovely things and creatures so well that it is quite a loss. Keep snapping away.

  5. sorry you lost your photos… it takes years to build them up… I have mine stored on external hard drives and many are on google photos. if you have photos on your blog that you want to save, you can right click and save as and put them in folders. I did that when I lost my civil war photos…. they are not as big a file, but they are there. love that grasshopper pic

    1. Thank you, yes it does take years. I have a lot on flash drives and have some on my laptop. The ones I lost and can’t recover were mostly ones I had not used yet. I am glad you like the grasshopper pic.

  6. Dear sweet Mags, I always enjoy your beautiful photography. I’m so sorry that your computer crashed and that you lost all your photos. You’ll just have to take some more and they will all be beautiful like usual.

Thanks so much for your kind words on my recent post as I return to blogging.
Blessings and hugs to you too.

    1. I am glad sweet Julia that you enjoy the photos that I post. It was about time for a new computer anyway so that was no big deal, but I would like to have had the later photos saved before the crash. Hugs and I am so happy you are back blogging.
